Traffic
- We have experienced extreme increases in traffic and its really taking a toll on our citizens
- Too many prolonged projects shutting down access creating havoc
- Not enough preplanning for growth increases we needed to address roadway access when large projects have been in the planning stages for years
- Lack of infrastructure plans
- Not addressing impact of large developments before approval process begins
- Citizen communication for clear understanding of timeline and impacts
Trains
- Ongoing topic of complaint that no local jurisdiction has control over but if we had more roadway access around them it might be an improvement.
- Need: Grade Separation for improved traffic flow-target area 143rd crossing
Property Taxes
- Board (not Mayor) decreased tax levy by 5%-note largest taxes are due to D202 school district.
- Voted for initiatives that will help lower property taxes.
- Promise of industrial area/warehouses to bring in money (again where and at what “cost”)
Trucks
- Increase in truck traffic has to be managed better with more options to direct truck traffic out of already congested areas.
Small Business support-Parking
- Parking in Downtown must be managed better. Supposed parking committee formed by Mayor months ago with no update. Simple solution: timed parking management employees have to move away from business front doors.
