Our Current Mayor

John Argoudelis has no respect for the Board. There is too much open fighting and bickering at mtgs (although 100% justified we look bad) NOTE: When Margie ran in 2023 to come back as a trustee, she received a number of messages from all over: Margie, “Please stop the drama!”

John Argoudelis never acknowledges board members who are onsite for ground breakings/ribbon cuttings and involves the Board in nothing. The Board often finds out about new initiatives on Thursday at 5:30PM before a Monday meeting.  He often holds back information for months.

The Mayor accused past leadership of cronyism yet he is worst of all. Very punitive to any business whom he knows did not support him.

Argoudelis uses mayoral influence to secure donations for his campaign as well as any organization that HE is involved.

He has poor relationships with surrounding communities/mayors. Often skips meeting with surrounding communities.

Above the Law

Back in 2018, Argoudelis was sued by the Village.  Argoudelis did not comply with Fire District’s commercial building a sprinkler system requirement based on square footage.  The case went on for years.  Argoudelis was able to use his own law firm to represent himself, so it cost him nothing.  The Village had to pay for legal representation.

The original judgement against Argoudelis was:  $45,000

Argoudelis used every option to delay the case at Village’s legal expense of over $100,000 as he ran up the bill.  Every delay in the case was Arguelles’s court motion.  All of them.

Argoudelis lost the case in the lower court.  Argoudelis went to Appellate Court for relief.  Argoudelis lost in appellate court then filed a motion to reconsider.  The motion was denied within days.

Argoudelis then filed with the Illinois Supreme Court:  Our expectation is that Illinois Supreme will not hear this case.  This is a contract violation at its core.  So, we expect by end of January Argoudelis will have to pay the fine within 30 days or may be removed from the Board since this an established debt:  $45,000
